St. John Eye Hospital

The St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital is at the heart of the mission of the Priory in the U.S. Located as it is in the Holy Land, where The Order of St. John began, the Hospital transcends religious and communal strife, helping ensure a brighter future for children and family members of all ages in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza. These areas have a very high incidence of sight-reducing disease. The Hospital provides treatment and sight-saving operations, screening, training and health care programs.

Since its founding, the Priory in the U.S. has raised millions of dollars to support the work of the Hospital. Besides making annual unrestricted gifts, the Priory has supported many special projects for the Hospital. Recently, a fundraising Initiative for Women and Children raised a million dollars to help the Hospital address, aggressively and proactively, the problems of women and children. The Priory in the U.S. is committed to the work of the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital, which represents a positive force for change in a tumultuous area of the world. It presents an opportunity for our Members to make a financial and moral contribution, to live out their belief in the great principles of the Order, and to reaffirm the vow they took to relieve sickness and suffering. In a world where people feel powerless to alleviate the situation in the Middle East, a contribution to the Hospital is a powerful action.
