Cholera relief in Zimbabwe
From time to time, the Priory in the U.S. of The Order of St. John makes special appeals to its Members to support the Hospital and to respond to disasters and human suffering such as Hurricane Katrina, in the U.S., the Asian tsunami and the Zimbabwe cholera relief efforts.
In 2007 the Priory in the U.S. launched a fundraising Initiative for Women and Children. This Initiative was designed specifically to address, aggressively and proactively, the problems of women and children, and insure for them a healthier and better future by building a better infrastructure for health care delivery in the Holy Land through the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital and its clinics and outreach programs.
As a result, a million dollars has been donated to the Hospital. Fundraising to complete this Initiative is still going on, and we welcome contributions.
